Many of my clients ask for an advice on a good multivitamin-mineral. They usually mention that they eat a balanced food and are generally healthy.
I would first discuss why we need to take a good multivitamin regularly. After many years of practice, I have learned that most of us lack essential nutrients in our bodies. A wholesome diet rich in vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, beans, dairy, eggs, seafood and grass-fed meat taken daily, can provide many nutrients, however the reality is that not many of us take such a diet every day.
There are other factors to consider too. The content of nutrients in each food might not meet our bodies' needs. Also several factors might affect the absorption of nutrients from these food items into our bodies.
Considering all of the above, I generally recommend a daily multivitamin-mineral to be taken, to provide the basic nutrients for our bodies.
